FIRE REBUILDS

As Angeleno's we are saddened by the losses experienced in our beautiful City by friends, family, colleagues, and neighbors. Our hearts are with those who have been directly or indirectly impacted by the sweeping and nearly instant devastation brought by the recent wildfires. As we witness the damage firsthand, we are thankful for all of the fire fighters, first responders, aviators, and emergency personnel who worked diligently at the front lines to protect homes and lives while containing the flames.

However, it is during these difficult times that we also witness the strength and resilience of Los Angeles. From shelters and food banks to community service and donations, our fellow Angeleno's are contributing to lift each other up and provide a helping hand when it is needed the most.

For over two decades Feffer Geological has helped in the development of our City. We are available and committed to providing insight and direction for those who need it. We remain available for one-on-one calls and emails, and will connect you with incredible expeditors, architects, surveyors, and engineers familiar with navigating the construction process.

For assistance from FEMA, the fastest way to apply is through DisasterAssistance.gov. You can also apply through the FEMA mobile app or by calling the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362. If you use a video relay service, captioned telephone service, or other communication services, please provide FEMA the specific number assigned for that service.

For insurance protection or assistance, you may visit the California Department of Insurance website or contact their consumer hotline at 800-927-4357.

The City of Los Angeles has issued information bulletin P/BC 2025-157 which provides guidelines for soils and geology report requirements. It also includes a map illustrating where reports are required, and where the City will allow a rebuild to move forward without a site specific soils report.

The City of Malibu is actively working on rebuild guidelines. The County of Los Angeles also provides general guidance for rebuilds in fire affected areas. Feffer Geo is available to help navigate rebuilds within geologically sensitive areas in the City of Los Angeles, Malibu, Altadena, and the County of Los Angeles.
